Workshop Description:

In this workshop, participants will analyze the work of Sharroky Holly and begin the journey to becoming a culturally and linguistically responsive teacher. Participants will gain an understanding and purpose of culturally relevant and responsive teaching to students of all diverse backgrounds, including students of color. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created activities to immediately implement culturally responsive strategies in their pedagogy.

Learning Objectives:

  •   I will learn the first steps on the journey to being culturally and linguistically responsive
  •   I will understand the purpose of CLR
  •   I will understand why students of Color are the greatest beneficiaries of CLR instruction
